Peer support

Find support from other people who understand the issues, fears and challenges you are facing. Please note: peer support is not suitable for people in immediate crisis who should call Gambler's Help 1800 858 858.

Telephone

Peer Connection and Chinese Peer connection are confidential, anonymous, telephone programs staffed by volunteers who have either experienced problems with gambling or worked through the impact of someone else's gambling.

You can call to be a part of the program or agree to being referred by a professional. You will then be matched with an appropriate volunteer who will call you weekly, fortnightly or monthly, as often as you need.

The forum is a safe place to:

  • share honest stories with others affected by gambling
  • promote healing through shared experiences and connect with peers
  • access support if you are reluctant or not ready to reach out for more formal help
  • find support while you make changes in your life, particularly if you're between sessions in formal treatment
  • connect informally with gambling counsellors who act as facilitators and encourage discussion.
