In the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation's second phase of the Bet Regret campaign, punters are being urged to avoid Bet Regret by adopting simple tips.

Tapping into the feelings of loss, guilt and regret, phase one of the Bet Regret campaign features real Victorian gamblers sharing their experiences to help raise awareness with those who are at risk of developing problems.

The second phase of the Bet Regret campaign features four Victorian sporting hero's relating a career regret with Bet Regret, and indicating that we all feel regret from time to time, but the key is to recognise it and use it positively.

The sporting hero's include AFL players Sam Mitchell and Scott Pendlebury, Hawthorn and Collingwood Football clubs, Adrian Leijer Melbourne Victory player and Australian basketballer Liz Cambage.

In this news video, we talk about the campaign with foundation CEO Serge Sardo, international gambling expert Dr Rob Williams, University of Lethbridge, Canada, reformed gambler Anna Bardsley, Associate Professor Nicki Dowling, Deakin University, and Rick Loos, Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre.

With research showing the more frequently people gamble, the more likely they are to develop a problem, Bet Regret aims to strike a chord with anyone who gambles, particularly during the Spring Racing Carnival.

The foundation provides simple tips and tools to help people avoid Bet Regret and prevent those feelings from leading to something bigger.
